Cody Guarnieri is a member of the Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Departments in the firm's Hartford office. In criminal defense matters he represents adults and juveniles accused of crimes in federal and state courts, including domestic violence crimes, DUI, possession and sale of controlled substances, breach of peace and threatening, manslaughter and violent crimes, sexual assaults, larcenies and embezzlement as well as infractions. He also has represented individuals before the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Children and Families, the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut and has assisted in College and University administrative hearings. Attorney Guarnieri has also represented individuals pursuing an appeal of their criminal convictions.

In his civil practice Attorney Guarnieri handles personal injury and workers' compensation litigation, including automobile accidents, work-related accidents, slip-and-fall accidents and product liability claims.

Prior to joining Brown, Paindiris & Scott, Attorney Guarnieri attended the University of Connecticut School of Law, graduating with honors in May of 2012. In law school, Attorney Guarnieri focused his studies on criminal defense litigation in Connecticut State and federal courts. In his final year at UConn Law, Attorney Guarnieri participated in the University of Connecticut Criminal Defense Clinic as a certified legal intern, where he represented indigent clients charged with various crimes and offenses in Connecticut Superior Courts. Based on his work in the Criminal Defense Clinic, Attorney Guarnieri was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Attorney Guarnieri also served as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Moot Court Board and was an Articles Editor for the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal. Attorney Guarnieri holds dual bachelors' degrees in Political Science and History & Social Sciences from Eastern Connecticut State University. Cody was selected to Connecticut Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2015.
